Q: Is this frame wall mountable? That is, do the long brackets that go against the wall have to touch the ground or can they be higher up on a wall?

A: Yes, it is wall mountable. Yes, the rods need to touch the floor for support

Q: In order to fold the bed to the wall with the matress in it, how thick can the mattress be? When folded out, how far does the mattress platform project from the wall?

A: The mattress can be 5" thick which is the mattress that we sell below. You can add it to your cart by clicking the option. It will be about 9" projecting from the wall.
